At Birthmark Interiors, we design and manufacture premium furniture built for modern living. We stand behind our craftsmanship with structured warranty protection and clear customer rights in line with South African law.

Your Statutory Rights (Consumer Protection Act)

All products include a 6-month implied warranty against defects from the date of delivery or collection.

Within this period, you may choose:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund

These rights are protected by law and cannot be limited or excluded.

Our Extended Warranty

In addition to statutory protection, we offer:

  • 10-Year Structural Frame Warranty (residential use)
  • 2-Year Foam & Fibre Warranty
  • 2-Year Stitching & Seam Warranty
  • 2-Year Webbing & Spring Warranty
  • 2-Year Craftsmanship Warranty
  • 2-Year Motion Mechanism Warranty (where applicable)

After the initial 6-month statutory period, repair becomes the primary remedy, unless otherwise required by law. Full details are available in our Warranty &

Performance Fabrics & FibreGuard®

Selected styles feature performance fabrics, including FibreGuard® technology, designed for enhanced stain resistance and everyday durability.

Please note:

  • Stain-resistant does not mean stain-proof
  • Prompt cleaning is essential
  • Use water or mild soap only

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • Harsh chemicals
  • Ink, paint, or dye transfer
  • Improper cleaning methods

Manufacturing defects remain covered.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Custom products include customer-selected fabrics, colours, or size variations.

Once production begins:

  • Orders cannot be cancelled
  • Deposits are non-refundable
  • Custom items are not eligible for voluntary returns

Statutory defect rights still apply.

30-Day Voluntary Return Policy

We offer a 30-day return policy for eligible non-custom items that are:

  • Unused
  • In original condition
  • Returned with proof of purchase

Delivery and installation fees are non-refundable, unless the return is due to 
a confirmed defect.

Delivery & Risk

  • Risk transfers upon delivery and acceptance
  • Customers must ensure adequate access for delivery
  • Ownership remains with Birthmark until full payment is received

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Sunlight fading
  • Liquid or heat damage
  • Pet damage
  • Improper cleaning
  • Third-party modifications
  • Commercial use (unless agreed in writing)
  • Damage during relocation

Warranty validity depends on proper care and adherence to care instructions.

Privacy & Data Protection

We process personal information in accordance with POPIA.

Your data is used only for:

  • Order processing
  • Delivery coordination
  • Warranty administration
  • Marketing (where consent is provided)
